Digital with Purpose Global Summit 2026

In a rapidly evolving geopolitical landscape, Latin America faces critical questions about its global role in the digital sustainability transition. This Summit provides a vital platform to position the Global South not as adopter of others' transitions, but as architect of its own digital transformation. By embracing Digital with Purpose, Latin America can assert its voice as a provider of both natural resources and digital innovation, ensuring equitable development, resource sovereignty, and sustained competitiveness.

The Digital with Purpose Global Summit 2026 Buenos Aires comes at a critical moment. It aims to contribute to Latin American innovation, leadership, and just transition strategy. Held in Buenos Aires—a hub of regional influence—the Summit will gather policymakers, indigenous leaders, private sector pioneers, and technology innovators to align around a shared vision: how digital transformation can enable a more sustainable, equitable, sovereign, and resilient Latin America.

This Summit is Built Around Five Core Imperatives:

Strategic Imperatives

1. Resource Sovereignty through Digital Innovation

Develop digital and technological capabilities that allow Latin America to be a strategic provider of natural resources (lithium, copper, fish, data, knowledge) without repeating extractivist models. Shift the conversation from raw material supplier to integrated solution provider.

2. Communities at the Center of Infrastructure

Ensure that digital infrastructure (data centers, AI systems, connectivity) serves local communities equitably. Establish governance models, indigenous consultation protocols, and benefit-sharing mechanisms that prioritize community agency and environmental justice.

3. LatAm as a Force for Peace & Diplomatic Leadership

Position the region's commitment to consensus-building, indigenous wisdom, and community-centered development as a counterweight to geopolitical tensions. Use digital platforms to strengthen South-South cooperation, regional knowledge-sharing, and peaceful pathways to shared challenges.

4. Frugal Innovation as Global Competitive Advantage

Position Southern innovation—solving problems with constraints—as a repeatable, exportable competitive advantage. Demonstrate how Latin American companies (Globant, Mercado Libre, Nubank, dLocal) prove that resourcefulness drives profitability and resilience.

5. Digital as the Driving Force for Just Transition

Leverage digital technologies to enable a just and equitable transition toward net-zero economies. Use data, AI, and digital platforms to optimize resource use, protect nature, enable community participation, and create new economic pathways for workers and regions dependent on fossil fuels or extractive industries.
