Julia Mensa
Julia Mensa is the CEO and co-founder of Nunatak Biotech, an Argentine agbiotech company that develops microbial solutions for agriculture based on a proprietary library of over 1,200 extremophile strains from Antarctica—a collection built upon more than 20 years of research by CONICET. In her role, she leads the company’s strategic vision, business development, partnerships, and fundraising efforts. Under her leadership, Nunatak developed Yamana®, a line of microbial products designed to integrate with existing agricultural inputs, boost crop yields under abiotic stress—such as salinity, degraded soils, and cold temperatures—and support the sector's sustainable transition. The company, which is 50% female-founded, is moving toward its commercial launch in Argentina and international expansion, with Yamana Cold already approved by SENASA.
