Nizar Kammourie
Nizar Kammourie is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of SAWACO Water Group, Saudi Arabia’s first private water utility, established in 2000. He has built a distinguished career at the intersection of desalination, sustainability, and digital transformation, positioning SAWACO as a pioneer in innovative water production and distribution solutions. Under his leadership, SAWACO has advanced high-efficiency desalination, water recovery, and specialized water production, including its contribution to Rabigh-3, one of the world’s largest Independent Water Projects. The company has also deployed advanced technologies such as AI-driven optimization, Brine Minimization, and Membrane Capacitive Deionization among other innovations to enhance recovery, efficiency, and water quality. His leadership is guided by the belief that water security must be integrated with environmental stewardship, operational excellence, and technology-driven sustainability. Beyond SAWACO, Mr. Kammourie serves on the boards of multiple organizations like at the American Chamber of Commerce in Saudi Arabia, GeSI, IDRA, Rabigh Three Company and the advisory boards of HBR , Greentown labs, and Economic Recovery Academy of the ISD supporting sustainable desalination, water reuse, digital innovation, and climate resilience.
